Liliana V Rodriguez is an Assistant Professor of Chicanx/Latinx Studies in the Department of
Ethnic Studies. She earned her undergraduate and master’s degrees from the University of Texas
at Austin and her doctoral degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She is a
recipient of a Career Enhancement Fellowship for Junior Faculty from the Institute for Citizens and Scholars.
Professor Rodriguez is a sociologist with research interests in Latinx immigration, Latinx
immigrant youth, international migration, Latina/o sociology, ethnographic research methods,
and race/ethnicity studies. Her first book, Adolescent Arrivals: Navigating Fear and Belonging
in New Beginnings, will be release in Fall 2026. Her work has been published in journals,
including the Journal of Ethnic and Racial Studies, and Migration Studies. She has received
recognition from the Southwestern Sociological Association.
