Summer 2008 ASIAN AMERICAN STUDIES 190 "CREATIVE WRITING" Instructor: Fae Myenne Ng, fmnucb@gmail.com TuWTh, 2:00-4:30pm Session D (July 7 - August 15) Novel Writing Workshop with a focus on the narrative challenges facing writers who explore Asian American themes in their writing. This instructor-approved course will accept 15 students. The course is open to all; those with work to show can submit a writing sample of 5-15 pages, others can submit a letter stating their writing goals. The course will focus on the mechanics of writing as well as the challenges of incorporating political, social and historical realities into a work of fiction that is welcoming to all. Please submit your writing samples or letters to: Asian American Studies 190, Attn: Dewey St. Germaine, 506 Barrows Hall Deadline is Monday, May 12th at 4:30pm Enrollment approvals will be done on a rolling basis so please feel free to submit your writing sample or letter prior to the May 12th deadline. Course Control Number will be given out upon approval of the course instructor.
